Font Installation
When you download a font the actual font files to be installed on your computer will likely be stored within a compressed file, most commonly a .zip file. Both Mac OS X and Windows (XP and later) provide a utility for extracting the font files from a compressed file.

If you use an older operating system you may need to use third party software such as WinZip or Stuffit it extract the font files. You may be able to find free versions of this software.

To extract the contents from a compressed .zip file using WinXP and later.

  1. Locate the compressed .zip file on your computer's hard drive.
  2. Right click the file, select "Open With / compressed (zipped) folders" from the pop-up menu that appears.
  3. The extracted files will be placed in the location you specify.

Installing Fonts in Windows XP and Other Versions

  1. Click - Start / Control Panel / Appearance and Themes / then click the Fonts folder displayed in the menu upper left.
  2. Once in font folder select - File / Install New Font
  3. Navigate to the location of the font file to be installed. The font should appear automatically in the "List of Fonts" field when you find the font.
  4. Select the font(s) displayed in the "List of Fonts" then click Install.

Installing Fonts in Mac OS X and Other Versions

  1. Quit all open applications
  2. Open the folder or disk that contains the fonts you want to install.
  3. Select the font suitcases for the fonts you want to install. For PostScript Type 1 fonts, also select the printer outline files
  4. Drag and drop the fonts into the Fonts folder in the Library folder.
